Why gear

We started with sauce.

The great outdoor brands began by making one small, serious thing for climbers. The gear was so good that everyone else wanted to wear it too.

We started the same way, with a chef-grade pesto made for professional kitchens. The pesto stays at the heart of Crush. Now we're making the gear to go with it: heavy-duty clothing for chefs, and for anyone who loves the food world and wants to be part of it.

Chef jackets were the obvious place to begin. They're worn for twelve to fourteen hours a day, yet most are boring, shapeless and have no identity at all. Ours is built like workwear and designed like something you'd actually choose to wear.

Crushing the Gap

One jacket. Your size.

Finding a chef jacket that fits is hard for women. Most are "unisex", which usually means cut for men.

We first designed a women's-specific jacket. Then we asked female chefs, and doctors who wear scrubs all day. They told us fitted workwear makes them feel on show. So we made one jacket, in a comfortable, relaxed fit, for everyone.

When you buy, you choose men's or women's sizing. Each has its own size chart, so you know exactly how it will fit before you order. No more guessing which men's size you are.

Look inside

The best part is on the inside.

Down the back of every Commis runs a stripe of the Crush pattern, the same one inside our pesto sleeves. At the neck sits a woven label of our chef, stitched on in gold thread.
