This is our flagship pesto that is inspired by the classic 'Pesto Genovese' recipe. We use a blend of basil and kale in order to create a greater depth in flavour and retain a more vibrant colour.
Although this recipe does not seem traditional, kale is known in Tuscany as 'black cabbage' and is widely used in cooking throughout this region of Italy.
We make all of our pestos by hand locally in Sydney. We use a small kitchen in Marrickville where we bring in all fresh ingredients from local markets and suppliers to create a product that is rich in Sydney culture. The process of making our pestos is almost exactly the same as making it yourself at home, except, during the process of grinding all of our fresh ingredients together we cook them. This allows us to bottle the pesto without using preservatives and yet still be able to store it out of the fridge before being opened.
So if you are after a fresh pesto experience but cannot be bothered with the hassle and cost of making it yourself, this is the product for you!

Crush was developed and designed by No Rules Kitchen. Along No Rules culinary journey of food tents and food content creation they came up with the idea that pesto had long been left in the past, untouched and unchanged for hundreds of years.
